The Irikla’s reservoir

The Irikla’s reservoir is known as “a blue pearl” of the eastern part of Orenburg region. Its waters wash five hundred kilometers of the coastline, foaming and splashing like sea-waves.

The smooth water surface, the diverse coastal landscape and the ecologically clean location make it an ideal place for tourism, camping and amateur fishing. The size and the shape of the reservoir are good enough for yachting, sailing, water-cycling, water-skiing, windsurfing and diving.

The total area of the water surface comprises 26 000 hectares, the coastal length is 581 km; the reservoir is 73 meters long and 12.5 meters deep. In the southern part of the reservoir there are some large bays, the most extensive one – Suundouk bay – is 43 km long. The Irikla’s reservoir is a natural habitat of 40 species and subspecies of fish belonging to 13 families. Among food fish are zanders, catfish, sazans, breams, ides, crucian carps, roaches, pikes, white-fish etc.

€47,0 ml to be invested will help to set up the “Irikla” tourist center’s essential infrastructure.
